Facebook Brand Architecture
Facebook isn’t really a single brand, but instead exists a complex arrangement of sub-brands and branded offers (Groups, Gaming, Dating, Marketplace, Events, etc).
This complexity was affecting the way we communicated with users, so I led multiple projects to organize and represent our brand architecture through strategic design thinking. Using product interactions as our inspiration, we developed a system and guidelines that allowed each sub-brand to maintain its own unique sense of distinction while also creating clear visual connections back to the parent brand.
